Projects

Hoort Mi Aen
Hoort Mi Aen is a poetic-musical performance created for and by young people, where voices from the past and present enter into dialogue.
Through this project, a major piece of Dutch literary heritage — the Gruuthusehandschrift — was introduced to students from three schools in Ghent, Bruges, and Leuven via workshops.

Jiraan
Jiraan (Arabic for “neighbors”) is a musical ensemble of 12 musicians from different ethnic and musical backgrounds.
Traditional melodies meet jazz, European folk, and new compositions, creating a dialogue between past and present. Their recent album Sirto (2023) embodies this intercultural blend.

Picea Orientalis String Orchestra
Picea Oriëntalis is a string orchestra of classically trained musicians from diverse backgrounds.
While rooted in Western classical tradition, the violin also draws on Middle Eastern techniques.
The orchestra explores an intrinsic sound that emerges when musicians listen, share, and co-create. Each tradition is celebrated while new bridges between cultures are built through music.
